• Lens Assembly & Fitting: Cut, edge, and mount lenses into various frame materials using optical lab equipment and hand tools.
• Adjustments & Repairs: Heat, shape, and adjust frame components to provide a secure and comfortable fit for the patient; perform maintenance, including replacing nose pads and screws.
• Quality Control: Conduct rigorous inspections of finished eyewear to verify optical clarity, lens power, and frame alignment prior to dispensing to the patient.
Key Operations
• Technical Knowhow: Understands the technical benefits of specific lens designs (e.g., progressive, bifocal, high-index) and protective treatments (e.g., anti-reflective, UV, blue light filters) in the context of patient eye health.
• Fit Verification: Ensure eyewear is positioned correctly on the patient’s face, verifying that all adjustments meet comfort and clinical standards.
• Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient eyewear specifications and measurements in compliance with practice policies.
Store & Lab Operations
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of frames and lens blanks; manage the reordering process to ensure essential supplies are always available.
• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly calibrate and maintain in-house edging, blocking, and measuring tools to ensure consistent precision.
• Workplace Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in both the lab and the fitting area.
Qualifications & Skills

• Technical Skills: Proficiency with a lensometer, digital edger, and frame-adjusting tools.
• Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of optical physics, frame anatomy, and lens materials.
