very dangerous part of the city

its right up against the canal so you get alot of crazy people just around the hotel, never in it. they had a really bad shootout here during one of my shifts where the gunmen shot at a guests car, people get robbed all the time in their parking lot during nights.

It was ok

It was an ok job for an over night job. Pretty laid back as long as you did your job correctly. The only thing was management seemed to change their minds a lot about what they wanted the over night people to do (like how they wanted the breakfast area set up, ect).

Very laid back

Management actually cares about their employees which makes a huge difference. Good pay, easy work, but no benefits. Just print off some paperwork, deal with a few check ins, make coffee, stock market, etc. it’s good for someone in school.

Fantastic Property but Immature and Incompetent Management

Beautiful property with great benefits but incompetent and immature management which led to sales director, FD supervisors and Auditors and even the FOM quitting at short notice because the GM running it has no clue. Lots of partiality and snitchers for the GM get special treatment from him.

Good job

My time with the company and most of the employees and managers was great. Unfortunately one individual who happened to be in management was understandably frustrated with me after being sick (something out of my control) and having to take off of work and refused me coming back. Night audit is not easy to cover.

Worst place ever

So if you want a terrible boss, the lowest of the low co workers, to be treated with no proper respect, and to overused. WELL COME WORK HERE I GUARANTEE YOU’LL HATE IT JUST AS MUCH AS EVERYONE WORKING HERE!!!

Micromanaged Made to work longer hours instead of you’re scheduled time no connection between anyone

Good place to work

It was a good job. Would recommend to a friend or family member. Room for growth if you are willing. Located near other hotels who we could call for extra help if needed.

Underpaid and Overworked

I’m sure it can vary by location, but my hotel has poor ownership and management that sets you up to fail. Overworked and underpaid for the multiple jobs you’re supposed to perform. Front desk? You are also housekeeping, security and bartender - all by yourself.

Productive and fun workplace

It is a good company to work for. The rules are tough though. It is not easy to abide by the rules. But it is a fun place to work in it. I recommend it.

Very good company

Terrific work atmosphere .. Very good management and the benefits are excellent. If you like to work in a friendly workplace then the Residence Inn by Marriott is the company I would suggest you work for..

Awful

If you want to work somewhere where every mistake you make is blown out of proportion then this is the place for you. No encouragement or good job. Suggestions are not appreciated.

Enjoyed my time

Worked 3rd shift, not bad at all. Most of the time doing laundry & setting up breakfast. Not a fan of no PTO till after 1st year. & pay was a little low however not a difficult job.

Nice staff, short staffed, low spending buget

the property needs remodling. short on office supplies. out-dated hotel. lack of wall insilation, thin walls, not sound proof,main guest complaint. no overtime. paid hoilday = extra day off that holiday week instead of working the usual 40 hours and then recieving an 8 hour paid bonus. great employee discount on hotel rooms, friendly co-workers and guests

Understaffed

I worked night audit in 2 different Marriott buildings at once. I was trained in one, but not the other. I thought this would be fine but the managers had completely different ways of doing things so I was floundering every night at the one I was never trained at. Everyone was overworked as they are severely understaffed. If you look at customer reviews, the understaffed has been a thing for years.

Best hotel job ever!

I have worked in the industry for many years and for many different brands. This is beyond my favorite! I love it so much!! The management is great and I feel like they honestly care about my well being.

This Hotel

The Marriott culture is very good as they try to help you succeed.This Hotel had been one of the best places to work.I worked here for 7 years and 11 months.

Normally 8 hours with the odd occasion of overtime.

a very good company to work for.

Marriott Residence Inn is my favorite place to stay of all the Marriott brand names. The rooms are like small apartments. They even have a full kitchen with all the pots, pans and utensils. I highly recommend staying at a Marriott when traveling.

Night Auditor

A lot of extra jobs involved. Randomly cut hours. Unappreciated. No matter what you do it's never enough. If you make a mistake they get very frustrated. I would suggest reconsider before jumping at this offer. As I was not given what I was guaranteed.
