Decent work flow not too busy but terrible training
Front Desk Associate (Former Employee) - Saint Paul, MN - September 21, 2023
Working front desk checking in and out guest was not a problem as long as you were familiar with FOSSE. Complying to guest request was not an issue. A major issue was the policies that were not trained to front desk. Every employee was trained differently and it was a major problem when guest were informed of our policies. If you werent aware of a policy due to the lack of training that management failed to give you, you were lectured and gaslit constantly from managment. The miscommunications and the constant gaslighting that management continued through out my entire employment there was unacceptable. Not to mention, they are extremely stingy when it came to requesting time off. Don't bother applying Downtown St.Paul.
Pros
Holiday Pay, Ot, Pto, decent pay wage.
Cons
Inconsistent schedule, No proper training

Good job to get experience but low pay
Front Desk Associate (Current Employee) - Orlando, FL - September 12, 2023
I loved this job at first but after a while I noticed a lot of favoritism, the pay was not that great for how much gas and tolls to get there. I am supposed to be full time but last 3 months have been slow so I’ve only been getting scheduled 4 days a week. More duties are always getting added on but no raises. Only pizza and ice cream is what they’re willing to give us.

Management is the best! The manager is the most caring person ever! Work did not feel like work. It was super fun and felt like family! They will make you feel so welcome and they are always there if you need help.

A healthy working environment.
Front Desk Representative (Current Employee) - Pleasanton, CA - July 29, 2023
Everyone was very welcoming when I first started. The management has a strong sense of belongingness towards everyone making sure no one is being left behind. Fair and equal treatment towards each and every employee. The team were very accommodating and hands-on for new learners. It was really fun working with this team.

Management
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Lafayette, IN - July 25, 2023
I was only part time here, but I was treated worse than that. Management will gossip about you. They'll change the schedule whenever, regardless of availability. Housekeeping staff was nice.
Pros
Room Discounts
Cons

Excellent coworkers
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Greenville, SC - July 18, 2023
I would love to talk about their management, but there wasn't one. I worked there just a short period of time (3.5 months) and within those few months we had THREE different managers. Each leaving without explanation. I was reprimanded twice, just for asking basic questions that I was never taught during training. Talked down to like I was incompetent. This company, or this one particular hotel is a joke. I do NOT recommend working for them... EVER!!!
Pros
Great coworkers, safe location
Cons
Management or lack of, OOO elevator, needs updating throughout, current Night Auditor, Jill

Productive Workplace
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Richmond, VA - July 5, 2023
The job itself isn’t hard other than dealing with sometimes stressful situations regarding the guests. The management team plays a role in the job and is very helpful.

Steer clear of this place!
Night Auditor/Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Denton, TX - April 15, 2023
From day one all you hear about is “we’re one big family!” and then slowly but steadily your contact with day shift and management decreases until it’s non existent. Power hungry employees that blatantly run down coworkers and guests are somehow allowed to keep their positions. Find a job where you will actually be valued and not looked upon as a warm body to fill a time slot.
Pros
None
Cons
Too many to list

Happy family, atmosphere, look forward to going to work
Front Desk Associate (Current Employee) - San Bernardino, CA - February 18, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? It’s like Family works there, everyone supports each other, and the boss is the reason she is one of the best bosses I’ve ever worked for, she has patience, understanding, and brimming with kindness!!! What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Guests complaints, the titanium members can be so demanding, Some, maybe one percent are that way, but most the guests are wonderful What is the work environment and culture like at the company? I already mentioned it, but my boss is one of a kind and it is a family atmosphere people really like each other and help each other and there’s no backbiting or backstabbing because of our boss What is a typical day like for you at the company? Come in, hug the kitchen worker, get my coffee, talk to the night auditor, check many people out first thing in the morning, do all my paperwork, check people in and leave for the day

Work hard and build the company
Front Desk Associate (Current Employee) - Davis, CA - February 7, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The people are so friendly and knowledgeable. Managers are open to listening to employees and allow room for expression and growth especially for shyer and introverted Individuals. They are welcoming to all walks of life and will make there full of life and learning. It’s not always easy but it is worth the challenges and hurdles! What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not really the company just my own head and issues What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Amazing! Very connected and friendly What is a typical day like for you at the company? Business as usual. There’s not much to it

Horrible
Front Desk Associate (Former Employee) - Alabama - January 31, 2023
Was fired for standing up for myself when a former guest began to harass me. They do not care about their employees. Low pay, they mess up your hours, management is never around, and they want you to do more tasks than what your job title states / what it pays. No praise, no raise, no good jobs. I enjoyed my job. I enjoyed the guests besides the few awful ones. But when an employee is having an issue, too bad. If management is having an issue? Leaving early / having an easy work day. Used to think it was the best job I could have. But now I know its a completely awful company. No breaks, no more discounts on market items, no sitting.
Pros
Room Discounts
Cons
Low pay, no breaks

It sure is a job.
Front Desk Agent (Current Employee) - Saratoga Springs, NY - January 25, 2023
Honestly, it all depends on your management company. BBL hospitality struggles at hiring people to work, unsure why in a "workers market" there are too many people working who are just bodies to man the hotel. It's nearly a skeleton crew and has been for some time. I have literally been stuck on the same shift for the past three years because no one else will work it or is competent enough to. I do have the option to take a higher role in the building, but I will not take more responsibility because there's just too many mistakes that I have to fix already. The building has been neglected by the parent company in multiple ways and they just make you feel undervalued. Being that it's a residence inn, it is nice to meet some of the clientele who you can help make feel at home while they're away for months at a time. I've even kept up communication with some once they've left. on the opposite side of that coin you've got the monsters that Marriott has created with the loyalty program. They send out emails to everyone who is a gold and above to ask for a free upgrade and more than half of them are entitled and nasty. I'm a person too, thanks for treating me like I'm worth less than you.
Pros
Free coffee. Free Parking

What is a typical day like for you at the company? Exciting and fun it's like working with your family.

Flexible
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Glen Mills, PA - January 2, 2023
Great place to work . Nice co workers . Stressful at times but that’s the norm in hospitality. Front desk was really easy and was one of the funniest jobs I’ve had

Stressful but enjoyable, minimal pay for the area.
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Anaheim, CA - December 18, 2022
Management was very good about working with you on scheduling but it is not a very easy job. The stress levels are high and the cliental with Disneyland nearby can be pretty brutal and the pay just can't compare to some of the other hotels in the area. Overall, if they paid more, I would likely return.
Pros
Good team, solid management.
Cons
No shift meal, Lack of tools to help you succeed.
