New Management under Highgate

There is no accountability as people can do w.e they want without fear of repercussions. Management since the Highgate takeover has seem really disconnected.Property is small but experiences issues as if it’s a resort due to people neglecting their job duties

Hardest Job I've Had

Building is in poor condition so guests will complain about it.....a lot. And you will be overworked. But at least it gives practice with FOSSE systems so it provides skills useful for the industry, and there is a bit of room to grow.

Productive and pleasant, day goes by quickly.

What is the best part of working at the company?Great team players throughout all departments!.. Excellent devoted General Manager.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?When phone rings same exact time guest is checking out and other guests are purchasing items from internal market. Its all about timing.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Work environment is relaxed, culture is diverse.What is a typical day like for you at the company?There will be hectic moments, but in general most guests are very pleasant making it a pleasure to work there.

Fun workplace

working at the Residence Inn hotel felt like working with family. Even though dealing with some guests can be difficult, I was quickly to resolve the issue.

I have always worked in hotels so I enjoyed the work and the people I met I enjoyed having the manager position

Residence inn was closing down for renovations so I had to find work quick so I went back to housekeeping at another company while working at residence inn I was able to move up very quickly due to my attention and detail

Pros

We got to work on the same floor everyday so I knew who was working on those floors

Cons

Con's well you know they never stocked the stocked the carts up up for the next day, so I had to do that also check the rooms to make sure they clean and ready for the next customer

Manager could be better and hiring. A whole month waiting. Only good if you want the benefits and rewards, need a part time gig. Colorado pays 4x as more for this job and full-time

No Management follow up or follow through

typical day: unstructured and left to workers to flow through the day with only initial paper work issued. training: no proper training for new hires in a reasonable circa of time- (Brand Standard).Work Place Culture does not exist, hardest part of job is communication- Limited. Most enjoyable- homeward bound at end of shift.

Place lacks enthusiasm and updates in all aspects from the rooms to staff management.

What is the best part of working at the company?Some staff members are friendly and make it easier to deal with day to day.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Mostly no paid holidays, mother daughter duo as management is inappropriate as theirs a ton of favoritism directed only to daughter. Housekeeping department management is miserable, lacks enthusiasm, and they do bare minimum and stay in locked office watching movies together. Also they feel the need to mess with timesheets onmany occasions with their staff.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Having to clean 15 plus rooms within a certain time frame is often stressful What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Friendly work environment and the culture is to make every guest's stay enjoyable and accommodate any needs they may have if possible. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Have a morning staff meeting, recieve list of rooms that I'm required to clean, get housekeeping supplies cart to begin cleaning all the rooms om my list within a timely manner until completely done and then restock cart for the next day before I leave for the day.

Steer clear of this place!

From day one all you hear about is “we’re one big family!” and then slowly but steadily your contact with day shift and management decreases until it’s non existent. Power hungry employees that blatantly run down coworkers and guests are somehow allowed to keep their positions. Find a job where you will actually be valued and not looked upon as a warm body to fill a time slot.

The hotel is usually busy, the work easy to learn.

This job gave me a chance, despite being 60 and spending 25 years as a caregiver. I now have a better chance to get another job. If you work hard and get along with your co-workers, this would be a great fit for you.

Pros

Everyone has a sense of fun, and support each other.

Cons

You have be extra helpful and friendly to out guests no matter how busy you are, or rude the guest is to you.

Best job

Met the love of my life, had a beautiful son. Loved the people at this job so much. It really pished me to work hard and have a good time with the atmosphere of the hotel.
