Very productive, satisfying and great place to work.

What is the best part of working at the company? The co workers are like family and great bossesWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company? When there is a lot going on at 100% capacity and trying to do a lot of work in a short amount of time. However, it’s not always 100% capacityWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Family culture. All inclusion. What is a typical day like for you at the company?First thing is to gather waters for rooms, start your daily breakdowns/builds for the day with refreshes in between trying to manage the time.

Old boys club with no appreciation for the people doing the actual work.

What is the best part of working at the company?Discounts on hotel rooms when traveling. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Impossible to reach bonus requirements and there was no loyalty to employees. Omni made promises regarding properties that were sold or for sale that they didn’t keep as far as relocating or pay. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Stressful and negative. Little appreciation from an owner who is a trust fund baby.

Good coworker horrible management

Everyone is super nice but most managers do not work with the employees. Super easy job and a great place to work at w the exception of managers. Coworkers are friendly and helpful.

The people are great, but management is horrible

Each day is a little different. When consider what the hotel makes daily, with the amount of work they expect you do, the compensation is pretty insulting. They truly rely on foreign foreign workers mostly from India that are trading work for a free pass here and lots of central and South American workers here on visas. That’s how they keep profit margins high.

Pros

Free dry cleaning service on site

Cons

Long hours and extremely low pay

Fun Workplace

You work outdoors, it's a great view and a lot of fun. The tips are great during the short summer months, but unfortunately not at all a livable wage during the off season (the rest of the year)

Low accountablility job

Basically the job entails you coming in and getting your list of rooms to do, going down and turning down the rooms, and once your done, just waiting until your shift is over. There isn't anyone watching over you, just do your job and don't anger the guests and you'll be fine

Not the best job in the world but not the worst either.

You would show up to your shift (on time if you want to avoid trouble), receive pass down information from the previous shift, then you and the rest of your squad would take over from there. Job consists of patrolling the whole property on foot (lots of walking) or using a golf cart (if there's one available). The LP office is kind of a dump, it really needs to be fixed up. This is where you would be monitoring surveillance cameras, logging in lost and found items, issuing keys and radios to other employees from different departments, answering phone calls, etc. You're there to secure the property and to respond accordingly to any issues that may arise. The resort itself feels very safe and it is a nice property, however, the "back of the house" area for the employees is old, ugly, and run-down.

Pros

Free food (daily) from the employee cafeteria, discounts on merchandise from stores on the property, pay is above average.

Cons

LP office is a dump as well as most of the "back of the house" area for the employees, wish they would spend some money to fix everything up and make it a more pleasant work environment, it might even boost the morale.

Great team

The coworkers at this resort are simply amazing to work with. Management is very supportive and willing to give the tools needed to achieve success.

Horrible Human Resources Deparyment

This company churns through HR Management because there is too much work, it is disorganized and the current director is very difficult. Everything is hard to do there. It is a shame. The Omni Providence is beautiful but the management team really does not care.

Pros

Nice Hotel and Clean Atomsphere

Cons

Horrible Human Resources Department and Management Team

Too much micro management

When you first start you will be on the bottom because everything is based on seniority so you will get the third and second shift while you are "training". With that being said it's a overall easy gig basically helping the room attendants with removal of dirty bedding but they are rude and will talk bad about if you don't strip all of their beds. Oh yeah there's the union me having been there four months didn't feel like the union was any help. Micro management was the worst thing for me. You basically have 7 bosses including the room attendants. It was a horrible experience for me. All money isn't good money and $27.12 isn't enough for me to drink the kool-aid and sell my soul. Terrible place to work.

Pros

Free lunch

Cons

Micro management

Love my job but...

I really do, I love my job. I was one of the first hired for the restaurant after starting there as a temp. We serve beer and chicken, it's a simple but tasty menu, and most of our business comes from the convention center. Its an easy job and usually quite fun, every day is different. Upper management here is a nightmare to deal with as they get overly involved in the minutia of daily operations. While they seem like they care and hear what employees are saying, their priority will always be their guests, NOT employees. For example, the air conditioning inside our restaurant hasn't worked right for months now and it gets to be over 80° inside. I complained multiple times over a 2 month period before they finally brought in a portable unit. 2 days later, the kitchen took it upon themselves to take the unit back to the kitchen, where it is already 10° cooler, and they have been allowed to keep it, getting away with taking it without permission, after I complained for months to get it. I was told by upper management that a 2nd unit had been ordered so we'd have one at the bar too, but it never showed up and now I'm being told they aren't getting any more. I can never get a straight answer for questions I have, I've asked about a raise, since other team members get them, and gotten no response. The communication here is TERRIBLE and I'm never kept in the loop by anyone. One day I came in to find out there was a special event scheduled for noon, and no supervisor or anyone else was there to help me, leaving me doing the jobs of 3 different people.

Pros

Benefits, including up to 85% off hotel stays at any Omni

Cons

Lack of communication, three months out of the year are very slow
