Overall a good stepping stone
Receptionist/Night Auditor (Current Employee) - Manassas, VA - December 29, 2019
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe pay is is low and you have to stand 8 to 16 hours. Plus front desk has to make breakfast in the morning. But it a good and safe place to work with a strong sense of teamwork and you learn a lot from management.

Every man for himself.
Front Desk Associate (Former Employee) - Jupiter, FL - October 1, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? If you enjoy an environment that has poor management, lack of appreciation, moldy, bug infested, poor air quality, unhappy guests, low morale. Then this is the place for you! What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Guaranteed more than usual guest complaints. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Low morale, revolving door with employees, management doesn’t value what you have to say, constant change in schedule, it’s a paycheck and nothing more. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Guaranteed complaints from guests, the occasional officer that shows up for a pharmaceutical look around, the interesting characters in just for the afternoon. It’s an adrenaline rush while you’re trying to eat some food because you don’t get a proper lunch break.

Great until you get up in level
Assistant General Manager (Former Employee) - Doral, FL - September 29, 2023
Corporate doesn’t care about you unless you’re A GM or higher. Yes, climbing the ladder, per se, is easy but be mindful and extra careful of the ones who help you up because they will most definitely think they own you.

Unorganized, turnover rate is high gossip is highly encouraged
Front Desk Clerk (Former Employee) - Lubbock County, TX - September 28, 2023
Working here was awful. Not enough housekeepers to clean the rooms. The employees that aren’t favored have to do all the work while favorites are welcome in the office sitting down gossiping with the managers. Do yourself a favor and don’t waist your time here

Nice place to work but you have to be able to clean the way they want you to clean and very fast.
Housekeeping (Former Employee) - Burlington, WA - September 23, 2023
They give you 15 minutes to clean each room no matter how dirty it is. The management was nice and they treat you equal. The hardest part of the job is finishing cleaning each room within the 15 mins that they expect you to have it done in. The best part of the job is getting paid.
Pros
Getting paid
Cons
Short breaks

Pros

Grade of La Quinta
Housekeeper (Former Employee) - Montana - September 21, 2023
La Quinta for the most part, as a very exciting and interesting job I’ve done thus far. By the time i left i had learned three different skills that are useful to know and be able to preform. The job is a great microcosm of studying human behavior. You see how most people behave vs small groups of deviants that come though the doors of la Quinta. The work environment is testy as most of the staff are comprised of pre releasers and people with chronic alcoholism. The management of La Quinta for the most part is well done though the only thing that is a huge issue is that windows in management get angry they don’t know how to speak to their employees respectfully and how to put their anger aside to get down to the bottom of something either it be a problem between employees or even a problem between a manager and an employee. In fact, when it comes to person-to-person problems that become heated, there is a lot of work to be done there other than that management is a peach as long as you keep good communication communication between everybody is key but don’t be naïve because there’s a lot of people there especially the employees who like to twist, ideas, thoughts and questions into complaints of this contentment of the work environment pay and what not. So you’re really not safe with anybody and you can’t necessarily guaranteed your job safety especially when you have a question for you employer that’s very important or you want to get to the bottom of a complaint and try to explain what was actually going on and what your thoughts truly were. It’s in that regard very versatile -
Pros
Free breakfast free lunch, flexible work hours. Plenty to do
Cons
Miscommunication and misrepresentation among employees, poor conflict, resolution, disrespectful of employees when angry. Favoritism.. very clicky.

Good for HS graduates
Front Desk Receptionist (Current Employee) - Port Lavaca, TX - September 18, 2023
No upwards movement. No benefits, but at least it’s easy. Management is nice but it’s a stagnant position. Good for those fresh out of high school or otherwise seeking relatively easy customer service experience.
Pros
Good work-life balance, ability to focus on school
Cons
no breaks, bad pay

Very hostile place to work with low pay and poor management.
Assistant General Manager (AGM) (Former Employee) - Morgantown, WV - September 18, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? There isn’t anything good about working for this hotel chain. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Doing other people’s jobs and not having good pay attached to your duties. Lowest paying company. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very stressful, hostile and not inclusive. Feels like high school all over again. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Front desk does laundry, housekeeping, breakfast, you name it. They’re not afraid to make you do jobs outside of your description

Consistent employee turnover.
Hotel Front Desk Clerk (Former Employee) - Richmond, TX - September 14, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Meeting people from all over the country. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? No appreciation from management for excelling on the job. Never a pat on the back but always arguments among manager and workers. Too much drama. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Stressful. Too much animosity among employees. Managers don't demonstrate a good mood for the department so employees are always in drama mode. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Clock In follow daily procedures, can't even talk among other co- workers for 5-10 mins when Manager will interrupt and quickly send you to work. We have no camaraderie among employees. Everybody walks around with a frown

Not good.
Housekeeper (Former Employee) - Selma, NC - September 9, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The housekeepers. The place has no benefits, nothing to properly take care of the building. Like cleaning supplies, it’s an absolute shame how the owners have done little for this property. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Putting up with the ungrateful guest. They complain about the most minuscule stuff. But still stay there. It’s ridiculous! What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Work environment isn’t bad. There is a lot of promises made, but nothing ever happens! What is a typical day like for you at the company? Just wishing I was some where else!

No place for an honest hard working person.
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) - Moab, UT - September 3, 2023
The most enjoyable part was getting to meet all the different people that go through the hotel. You get discounts on rooms but the mgnt. Sucks. Don't ever think your job is secure, nrcause it's not. Even if your a great employee.
Pros
Meeting new people.
Cons
The manager is a chicken.

Worst place I've worked!
Front Desk Clerk (Former Employee) - Luling, TX - August 31, 2023
I had very little training, maybe 1 days worth. Then I was left to my own devices. Management was absolutely horrible. Typical day included : laundry, checking guests in/out, answering phones, cleaning breakfast up. Making sure the lobby was clean, etc. Making sure rooms were clean before letting new guests in. There really was no work place culture, I always worked alone. The hardest part of the job, was juggling everything they had us do on a daily basis. Easiest part of the job was clocking out. I really don't believe I learned anything from this job, except maybe some red flags to look for in new job searches. I will say, perhaps I just wasn't a good fit for this job. But, overall my experience at La Quinta was not a positive one.
Pros
None.
Cons
Little work life balance, bad Management etc.
