Weddings Galore!

Indeed Featured review

I really enjoy this job and it's very rewarding as I deal with mostly brides/groom, and brides/grooms mother's. Getting to speak with them and/or meet them long before their event and then feeling their tension and excitement leading up to the big day is my favorite part. I learned a lot about sales and customer service while dealing with team involvement and the front desk as well. The hardest part of this job is getting the backlash from something that wasn't my fault, such as a mistake that the front desk made.

Pros

Great employee travel rate

Cons

Position has been changed from full-time to part-time

Pay isn't good for the work you do!!!!

I was making $10 an hour to clean rooms, some days I'd have 5 rooms and some days I'd have up to 18 rooms. At first it wasn't bad but then they got extremely strict and wanted you to go to the extremes for so little money. The only good thing was working alone and occasional free lunches.

Pros

Free occasional lunches, working alone, daily pay

Cons

Low pay

Benefits aren't great. Hours are worse.

If you're lucky enough to get a good GM, then it's worth sticking around. Otherwise, nope! You can get really nice hotel discount benefits. Some franchises offer 401k. The hospitality industry in general, is one where the staff is high turnover. Constantly. So that kinda sucks. You're stuck there if your relief no call no shows, so that's a big stressor. You have to be a people person to do this work.

Pros

Big hotel discounts

Cons

Hours, FOM doesn't care about boundaries when scheduling

10 years working at the hampton inn.

I was one if the best employees in housekeeping. I moved up a small ladder quickly. I loved working at the hampton inn and as the years pass, we find out who is who. When covid, resurfaced, and everyone was laid off, I continued working with a skeleton crew April 2020. After employees returned to work and 2 plus years without any assistant, I was quietly demoted. So after watching something crumble that I helped build for 10 years, I put my 2 weeks notice in. To top it off, they kept my 38 hours of vacation time after telling me that I would receive it.

Productive, repetitive workplace.

This company is generally a good company to work for, except the Muskogee location. This location has issues in management that needs correcting. Starting with the owner. You are not appreciated at this location, you are constantly expected to go far above your expectations, tasks not in your job description are assigned, and expected to be completed. No increase in pay, and no benefits offered. More than a handful of employees left due to these reasons.

Pros

Meet new people everyday, from all over.

Cons

Unethical owner, poor communication, poor wages, and no benefits offered.

Management made the workplace pleasant

Unless you’re full time workers rather than part time then there’s no paid time off even if you’ve been working there for years. The housekeeping staff were shown appreciation from management maybe every three months or so and got treated to a full lunch meal.

Not a good work place

I would not recommend This job for people who have invisible disabilities. I had a horrible experience with people in management disclosing mental health status to others, as well as Not being taken seriously when making complaints about a supervisor. And being denied access to a specialist who is on my case to help solve problems well at work. The list goes on and on.

Great co-workers, toxic management.

The job itself is pretty great, you get to learn your regulars and build a relationship with the businesses in town. However, depending on the hospitality management group you work for, you may not get any benefits and the pay may be well below the average for the area, you may also not have an HR you can report poor management to. Management at my property was fantastic when I first started but when my GM moved away she was replaced with the most awful, rude, micromanager i have ever had the displeasure of working for and I left very quickly after seeing her tell us (her staff) to "shut up" and "this is your first big girl job, act like it." The unprofessionalism is insane.

Pros

Co-workers

Cons

Management, no benefits, terrible pay, treated poorly, no advancement opportunities

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Bad guest , rude, entitled and always looking to take out their Frustrations on the staff. No security What is a typical day like for you at the company?A typical day is smooth. Not to many complaints. The guest can be very pleasant.

Try to get as much work out of you for as little they can get away with paying you.

Housekeepers are chatty. It is nice that they pay the little money that they do. Still, it’s not close enough compared with the rising cost of living. The few hundred dollar bonuses paid per year are a nice gesture too.

Pros

Great new vacuums.

Cons

Employees talk and smoke a lot.

Judge mental, Uncaring, Ungrateful Management

Will have you working your position and covering other employees duties as well. Will pay you the same amount no matter your work load. Will show favoritism between staff members as to who rules apply to. Will expect maximum amount of work for minimum amount of pay. No sick pay, no holiday pay, insurance has very high copays. Doesn’t matter how many years you work there, you will be paid the minimum, no matter how good your work is done they don’t really care about you or what you deserve. General Manager could care a less how hard you work and covers for others instead of enforcing rules to all employees.

Pros

Clean place to work

Cons

No loyalty to good employees no pay raises even when deserved
