It has become a terrible company
Sr. Director (Current Employee) –  GeorgiaJanuary 2, 2020
Ceo and leadership team makes money and lay-off others who really work. No one should be working for company like this. Why do I have to write all details.

Great coworkers
C.N.C. Machinist (Former Employee) –  Waukesha, WIDecember 31, 2019
Great place to work. Friendly coworkers and great pay. Poor management. Sad to see the company go. GE was sold and the plant moved to Canada. The hardest part of working for GE was poor job security. Been laid off many times.

GE used to be a great company, but that was the case in the past
Electrical Engineer | Member of Edison Engineering Development Program (Former Employee) –  Paris (75)November 29, 2019
GE has recently made bad choices in terms of acquisitions and management. The company no longer does engineering. Rather, it is an industrial portfolio manager. This orientation makes it no longer the top choice for highly skilled engineers

Layoffs every 18 months
Operations & Communications Leader (Former Employee) –  Greenville, SCNovember 23, 2019
Competitive atmosphere is both fun and toxic, people fearful of layoffs, managers save themselves, smart people, too focused on shareholder value and not people, too much hierarchy, when times are good, it is an exciting place to be. Good pay.

Not what it used to be
Technical Leader (Current Employee) –  Greenville, SCNovember 23, 2019
GE Power seems to be on a quick decline from what it used to be. The management seems deflated by the downturn of the past few years and the future of the industry doesn't look too bright.

Competitive but a lot to learn
Materials Planner (Former Employee) –  Dallas-Fort Worth, TXNovember 21, 2019
Working for a major company, the competition will always be there. Overall it's a nice place to work. Some opportunities for contract and full employees. Some teams and their managers were nice, others not so welcoming. But that's with many places.

Unfair Management Practices
Financial Analyst (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GANovember 21, 2019
Managers can tend to play favorites, employees can be unfriendly if they don’t know you and not inclusive. Differing opinions are not welcomed. Hiring at GE is a place for those under 40.

Honest summary about mind and thinking.
Senior Engineer (Former Employee) –  Windsor, CTNovember 20, 2019
Due to overseas engineering collaboration early meeting with engineers
time zone different was a fun part mostly two times a week, speaking with
them and learn about culture. Always schedule was a big part to finish the
project in timely matter and was challenging. Help field engineer any
problem occurred due to fabrication or damage. Visit project site if engineering issue occurred and meet with customer if they any concern or need help during construction.
