Bad Management
Manager (Former Employee) - Tennessee - September 29, 2023
Your hours get cut in housekeeping under 30 hours in the winter especially if theres too many housekeepers from the summer when hours are better. Use this for a temporary job or for more part time in the winter. 17 hour really isn’t 17 an hour when you get 29-30 hours a week instead of 40. They will wean people out on purpose just to save THEM money in the winter if they have too many housekeepers!!!

Great place to work
Housekeeper (Former Employee) - Chesterfield, MO - September 25, 2023
The management is top tier I worked at the Hyatt which was owned by the drury inn. All of the managers were great and always listened. But however I did walk past a room which had two of the managers in there and heard one say how slow me and another co worker was and making mockery of it even tho I always finished my work before the other workers or at the same time but other than that every one was nice.

Enjoyed the hours I worked as far as time of day I worked.
Cook/Prep (Former Employee) - Saint Joseph, MO - September 23, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Nothing, bad experience & lack of associates scheduled. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? High expectations & not enough hours scheduled. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Empty promises from management. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stressful, hard & never enough help.

Good Company
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) - Nashville, TN - August 27, 2023
I think the company rewards fairly for hard work. Goals are transparent and easy to understand. You will work long hours most days but like any job in this field some days are way less stressful than others and I think it balances out.

Good First Hospitality Job
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Castleton, IN - August 24, 2023
The company is great and their hotel discounts were amazing! Great place to get foot in the door for hospitality! Management was poor, but if you put your head down and work it’s fine. There’s some craziness because of the area, but I never felt unsafe.

Overall good place to work
GSA (Current Employee) - Chandler, AZ - August 9, 2023
They offer good bonuses depending on surveys and fun staff to be around. Can be stressful with guest's requests but normally have some backup from coworkers or managers. Issues with scheduling and clarity from managers

Kickback host (Current Employee) - St. Charles, MO - August 8, 2023
Expect to do a lot of work but also get paid somewhat decently. Certainly not the worst job I've had. Co workers are great. Atmosphere is nice. Overall good.

No matter how great of an employee you try to be, you're simply just a number.
Lead Maintenance Engineer II (Former Employee) - Springfield, IL - July 12, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Pay and okay benefits they provide to the employees What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Doesn't value employees like they claim they do, poorly ran management team, terrible training program, and no sense of urgency for major ongoing issues. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Okay work environment but the culture of business is absolutely terrible. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Hectic and if you don't have decent experience in your position, good luck with getting the proper training.

Wonderful Place to Work
Food Service Worker (Current Employee) - Montgomery, AL - July 4, 2023
Supported by the General Manager. She shows that she cares and doesn’t mind helping when and where needed. True demonstration of a leader! Drury is a wonderful place to work!
Pros
Bonuses, benefits, discounted rates, flexibility…
Cons
Can’t stay at the property in which you work.

I loved working for Drury except....
Guest Service Agent (Former Employee) - Richmond, VA - June 23, 2023
The entire management team was horrible. They only focused on the negative. They never gave any positive feedback, even when I stayed late, worked multiple shifts to cover when people called out, helped boost their survey ratings that they cared so much about, and worked other departments that weren't in my job description. I felt like some of the staff was out to get me. When I tried to talk to management, they just ignored my request for a mediation. The GM was always in a bad mood and very unapproachable. The shift Manager would yell at me and insult me in front of guests all of the time. I discussed this with management and they didn't do anything. I loved the guests so very much and would have stayed forever if they had a solid, professional management team.
Pros
The guests
Cons
Management, pay

Nice place. Great guests
Bartender (Former Employee) - Charlotte, NC - June 21, 2023
Too much micro management. Nice environment, staff got along well. The guests were fun to engage with. I had a great time getting to know them, especially the ones who stayed at the hotel frequently for work.

Hard to have a home life
Assistant General Manager (Former Employee) - St. Louis, MO - June 13, 2023
If you really want to advance your career within the company, you must accept that you will work more hours than spending time at home and always be available even on your off days. The company overall does a great job of competitive pay, benefits and includes quarterly bonuses for overall results. This is a great place to work if you don't have a life outside of work.
Pros
Benefits, pay, bonuses
Cons
Alot of hours

La triste realidad
Housekeeping (Current Employee) - Findlay, OH - May 31, 2023
Los gerentes son familia, y las cosas improfecionales que hacen en complot dejan mucha mala imagen sobre ellos me encanta el lugar de trabajo pero lamentable que los MG sean familia y hagan lo que quieran con sus empleados.

Location Specific pros and cons
Front Desk Trainer (Current Employee) - Troy, MI - May 31, 2023
I learned that being a great employee only gets you more work and very little recognition. Management is only able to do so much but i also cannot say that they try their best to improve overall work conditions. The hardest part of the job is essentially the things that you cant control, but that's also what makes the job ripe with growing opportunities, and learning experiences. The most enjoyable part of the Jobs is always seeing guests come back, then the returns become regulars, and then the regulars become family.
Pros
Travel, Per Diem, Learning experience, Growth opportunities
Cons
Undermines top performers, Negligent/ Absent management, Misguided Hostility

I meet new people from all over the world every shift What is a typical day like for you at the company? Sometimes it’s mellow, others time we have days where the bar and kitchen is nonstop

Fast paced and fun!
Guest Service Agent (Former Employee) - Cleveland, OH - May 17, 2023
Drury hotels is a wonderful, family owned company to work for. It really does feel like a family environment. Good management, the owner of the company is so nice. Even though I don’t work there anymore, Drury has gained a customer for life!
