Accountant – Receivables

Location: Muscat, Oman
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant – Receivables to manage the Accounts Receivable function, ensure timely collection of outstanding payments, and maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and experience in receivables management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end Accounts Receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and customer account maintenance.
  • Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Reconcile customer statements and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Record customer receipts and allocate payments accurately.
  • Prepare periodic Accounts Receivable aging reports and collection forecasts.
  • Coordinate with customers, sales teams, and management regarding payment issues and account status.
  • Maintain accurate records of invoices, receipts, and customer correspondence.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to receivables.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and local regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance collection efficiency and reduce overdue balances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or General Accounting.
  • Experience working in Oman or GCC countries is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and receivables management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in trading, manufacturing, logistics, construction, or distribution sectors.
  • Knowledge of Omani tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
  • Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
